Nick Mohammed's A Christmas Carol(ish) has opened in London's West End at @SohoPlace, bringing a unique twist to the classic Dickens tale. This new comedy, starring and written by double Emmy-nominated Nick Mohammed, also known as the beloved character Mr. Swallow, features a star-studded cast and opened to the public on 21 November after previews starting 16 November. The show will run through 31 December 2024.

In this innovative take, Santa Claus cancels Christmas on Christmas Eve, only to be visited by three ghosts who persuade him to rediscover the magic of Christmas. With only hours to spare and one functioning reindeer, Santa's race against time adds comedic suspense and hilarity to the traditional storyline. Mohammed, known for his role in Ted Lasso and his extensive work in character comedy, brings his unique humor and creative vision to the production, promising a Christmas show like no other.

Joining Mohammed are Kieran Hodgson, David Elms, and Martha Howe-Douglas, with Oliver Birch providing the musical backdrop. Directed by Matt Peover and boasting impressive set and costume designs by Tony and Olivier-nominated Fly Davis, the show integrates captivating lighting by Richard Howell and choreography by Emily Holt to create an engaging festive experience.

The production has garnered attention for its inventive approach to a Christmas classic, described as a “festive fever dream” by The Times and lauded for its humour and originality by The Stage. With its all-singing, all-dancing format, A Christmas Carol(ish) is positioned as a must-see for those seeking an alternative holiday theatre outing.
