Lucie Jones and David Hunter were to return to the Waitress diner at the Adelphi Theatre, London on 23rd March 2020 but producers have announced the show won't return after the shutdown.

Producers have announced that Waitress will not be returning to the Adelphi Theatre when the venue re-opens after the shutdown period.

In an announcement on Twitter they said:-

Ticket holders will be contacted in due course.

The upcoming tour of the show remains as scheduled opening in Dublin in November.

Producers had announced that Lucie Jones and David Hunter will return to the cast of Waitress the musical as Jenna and Dr Pomatter from 23 March 2020.

They were to return to the show after Sara Bareilles and Gavin Creel play their final performances on 21 March 2020 at London's Adelphi Theatre. Natasha Yvette Williams was to join the company in the role of Becky.

Waitress celebrated its official opening night at the Adelphi Theatre on 7 March 2019 and is now booking until 4 July 2020. The show has recently announced a new UK and Ireland tour which will open in Dublin in November 2020.

Waitress was recently nominated for Best New Musical and Best New Original Score (music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles) at the Olivier Awards 2020.
