Danielle Gearing plays Marilyn Monroe in The Life and Death of Marilyn Monroe. Birmingham-based theatre company Breakthrough Theatre will bring The Life and Death of Marilyn Monroe to The Blue Orange Theatre in July 2017 as part of Birmingham Fest.
The world premiere of this thrill filled, one-woman show is the perfect potion of laughter and raw truth. Marilyn's story, told by Marilyn alone in her dressing room, not the girl in THAT white dress with the pouting red lips and the curvaceous figure. Marilyn Monroe stripped back and bare - just an ordinary girl telling her story.
The Life and Death of Marilyn Monroe will be performed by Danielle Gearing, who founded Breakthrough Theatre with a view to creating and developing new writing. Danielle said:-"We want to create theatre that is fresh and compelling, that breaks boundaries, pushes people's way of thinking and is vibrant and inspiring. We are very proud to be producing our very first production - The Life and Death of Marilyn Monroe and are absolutely delighted that we've been programmed for this festival." says Danielle, explaining "This is the real story of Marilyn, the life behind the facade. It's brilliant to be bringing such an important piece of work to my home city." The Life and Death of Marilyn Monroe plays at The Blue Orange Theatre from 14 - 16 July 2017.
