Acclaimed British playwright Tom Stoppard will bring his play Hapgood to the Hampstead Theatre this December in a production directed by Howard Davies. Casting is to be announced.

London 1988. The Cold War is approaching its endgame and somebody in spymaster Elizabeth Hapgood's network is leaking secrets. Is her star Double Agent a Triple? The trap she sets becomes a hall of mirrors in which betrayal is personal and treachery a trick of the light.

Tom Stoppard is one of the UK's most prolific playwrights with works including Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, The Real Inspector Hound, Jumpers, Travesties, The Real Thing, Arcadia, The Invention of Love and the Coast of Utopia amongst others.

Hapgood runs at the Hampstead Theatre from 4 December 2015 to Saturday 16 January 2016.
