Amour the musical to close early at Charing Cross Theatre

London’s new musical comedy Amour will end its run early on Saturday, 8 June 2019 having played 45 performances.

The company of Amour. Photo: Scott Rylander Amour the musical was due to have run at Charing Cross Theatre to 20 July 2019 but will now close on 8 June 2019. Producer Danielle Tarento said, “I want to thank and applaud the brilliant company and creative team who created a beautiful production that received critical acclaim, nightly standing ovations and received 8 Off West End Award nominations. I am so incredibly proud of this gorgeous show and I hope London will give it the rousing send-off it deserves in its final two weeks.”

This belated UK professional première production (it opened on Broadway in 2002) was acclaimed by the critics and nominated for 8 Off West End Award nominations including  Best New Musical, Director (Hannah Chissick) Musical Director (Jordan Li-Smith), Costume Design (Adrian Gee), Lighting Design (Rob Halliday), Sound Design (Andrew Johnson) Male Performance in a Musical (Gary Tushaw) and Female Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical (Claire Machin).

The cast features Gary Tushaw, Anna O’Byrne, Alasdair Harvey, Elissa Churchill, Claire Machin, Keith Ramsay, Jack Reitman, Steven Serlin, Alistair So and Laura Barnard.
