Alexandra Burke who starred in last year's London Palladium return of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, made the announcement with Darren this morning - Valentine's Day.
Alexandra and footballer Darren Rudolph made the joyous announcement on Instagram with a video called "Due June 2022".
Congratulations on the announcement have already been made by Strictly Come Dancing's Ore Oduba and Oti Mabuse amongst other well-wishers.
Alexandra shot to fame on ITV's The X Factor in 2008 showcasing her sensational voice, going on to achieve three UK number one singles. She showed her versatility with Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 (placing second) and by taking to the stage as Rachel Marron in West End Musical The Bodyguard in 2014, touring with the show in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019. In 2016 Burke wimpled up to star as Delores Van Cartier in Alan Menken and Glenn Slater's musical adaptation of the hit film Sister Act.
February 2018 saw Alexandra join with Michael Ball and Cassidy Jansen in Chess the Musical at the London Coliseum followed by a bit of Razzle Dazzle playing Roxie in the West End revival of Chicago.
With theatre's coming back to life in 2021, Alexandra headlined the enormous revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice at the London Palladium.
It is unsure how today's news will impact her involvement in the upcoming Joseph musical tour with the due date estimated mid-tour, but expect an announcement soon. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Tour dates here.
In the meantime, sincerest congratulations to Alexandra and Darren on today's happy news.
