I Think We Are Alone Tour - Frantic Assembly celebrates its 25th Anniversary with the world premiere of a new play by Sally Abbott co-directed by Kathy Burke and Scott Graham.
As the centrepiece for the year, Frantic Assembly will present the world premiere of a new play I Think We Are Alone, written by Sally Abbott (The Coroner, Vera) and co-directed by Kathy Burke and Scott Graham. From those electric moments of discovery and connection to the dark hours of isolation, we all seek community and resolution. But sometimes what connects us is what we need to escape from. I Think We Are Alone Tour is a delicate and uplifting play about our fragility, resilience and our need for love and forgiveness.
Chizzy Akudolu (Edmond De Bergerac, Holby City), Charlotte Bate (On The Other Hand We’re Happy, Daughterhood), Polly Frame (Solaris, After Edward & Edward II), Caleb Roberts (She Ventures and He Wins, Richard III), Simone Saunders (Hang, Jane Eyre) and Andrew Turner (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Coronation Street) will perform in this delicate and uplifting new play about our fragility, resilience and need for love and forgiveness.
Two sisters (Charlotte Bate & Polly Frame) are estranged and bicker over text. Their brittle and aggressive language is pushing them further apart when what they really want is to meet, clear the air and talk about the events that happened when they were young girls and haunt them still. Josie (Chizzy Akudolu) is not allowing grief to get in the way. All of her focus is on what is best for her son, Manny (Caleb Roberts). She desperately wants him to fly but can she let him go?

The production will be designed by Morgan Large (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat , Wonderland ) with lighting by Paul Keogan (Lady Windermere’s Fan , The Plough and The Stars ) and sound design by Ella Wahlström (Peter Pan Goes Wrong , Jellyfish ).
I Think We Are Alone is a Frantic Assembly and Theatre Royal Plymouth Production, co-produced with Curve. It will tour to venues including Theatre Royal Stratford East, The Lowry, Nuffield Southampton, Bristol Old Vic, Theatre Royal Plymouth and Leicester Curve.
Kathy Burke said: "Having been a fan of Frantic Assembly for many years I'm really looking forward to working with them as a co-director as it's something I've not done before. It's good to try new things when you're a groovy oldie."
