Wicked, the West End and Broadway musical sensation, is already the 9th longest-running musical in London theatre history. Winner of over 100 major awards, including three Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and ten theatregoer-voted WhatsOnStage Awards (winning ‘Best West End Show’ on three separate occasions), the classic musical has recently welcomed its 10 millionth visitor. Wicked the musical is now running at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London and the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway.

Wicked imagines an ingenious backstory and future possibilities to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and reveals the decisions and events that shape the destinies of two unlikely University friends on their journey to becoming Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Wicked the musical has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Winnie Holtzman, direction by Joe Mantello, musical staffing by Wayne Cilento, scenic design by Eugene Lee, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Tony Meola, projection design by Elaine J McCarthy, hair and wig design by Tom Watson, and make up design by Joe Dulude II.

Wicked UK Tour 2018

Producers have announced that Wicked will tour the UK and Ireland from February 2018. Tickets for the Wicked UK Tour 2018 are now on sale. Wicked is the worldwide smash hit musical phenomena that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches Of Oz. Following a fifteen-city tour of the UK and Ireland which met with critical acclaim and box office success, this new tour will open in Bristol Hippodrome on 5 February 2018. Wicked has music and lyrics by multi Grammy and Academy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz (Godspell and Disney’s Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Enchanted) and is based on the novel ‘Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West’ by Gregory Maguire and adapted for the stage by Winnie Holzman. Wicked To Tour The UK And Ireland From February 2018

The producers of Wicked have confirmed today that the musical will return for a tour of the UK and Ireland from February 2018. Currently the 17th longest-running show in London theatre history, Wicked recently celebrated 10 years of performances at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Wicked has now been seen by over 50 million people around the world, winning over 100 major theatre awards. The international touring production is currently playing in Hong Kong, It then transfers to Manila, Shanghai and Beijing before returning to the UK. The 2018 tour will play in Bristol, Liverpool, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Dublin, Sunderland, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester. Willemijn Verkaik Returns To Wicked in January 2017

Willemijn Verkaik returns to Wicked London

Producers have today announced that Willemijn Verkaik will return to the role of Elphaba in Wicked on January 30, 2017. Sue Kelvin will return as Madame Morrible and Sarah McNicholas will join the cast as Nessarose on the same date. Willemijn Verkaik has previously played Elphaba on Broadway, Germany (Stuttgart and Oberhausen), in Holland and in the West End. Willemijn is is the only actor in the show’s history to perform the show in more than one language. She returns to the London production as part of the shows 10th Birthday celebrations. Sue Kelvin returns to the show having starred in her own one-woman show Bette Middler…and Me, whilst Sarah McNicholas comes to the show having recently played the Mistress in Evita at the Dominion Theatre.
