Wicked UK Tour Cast Announced
The producers of the upcoming Wicked UK tour have announced casting for the tour which starts at the Bristol Hippodrome on 31 January 2018.
Wicked, the West End and Broadway musical sensation, is already the 9th longest-running musical in London theatre history. Winner of over 100 major awards, including three Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and ten theatregoer-voted WhatsOnStage Awards (winning ‘Best West End Show’ on three separate occasions), the classic musical has recently welcomed its 10 millionth visitor. Wicked the musical is now running at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London and the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway.
Wicked imagines an ingenious backstory and future possibilities to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and reveals the decisions and events that shape the destinies of two unlikely University friends on their journey to becoming Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
Wicked the musical has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Winnie Holtzman, direction by Joe Mantello, musical staffing by Wayne Cilento, scenic design by Eugene Lee, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Tony Meola, projection design by Elaine J McCarthy, hair and wig design by Tom Watson, and make up design by Joe Dulude II.

Wicked the musical celebrates 12 years at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre today and in celebration of this birthday producers have released stunning new principal cast portraits by photographer Darren Bell. Wicked currently stars Alice Fearn (Elphaba), Sophie Evans (Glinda), Bradley Jaden (Fiyero), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose), Jack Lansbury (Boq), Laura Pick (Standby for Elphaba) and Carina Gillespie (Standby for Glinda). Wicked has now played 4500 performances, being seen by over 8 million people in London alone. Also joining the cast are Bradley Jaden (Fiyero), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Jack Lansbury (Boq) and Laura Pick (Standby for Elphaba), joining current cast members Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose) and Carina Gillespie (Standby for Glinda). Alice Fearn (Elphaba) originally joined the London production of Wicked in 2016, as Standby for Elphaba, and will now assume the role.
