Inspired by Dr. Seuss’s (The Cat In the Hat, How The Grinch Stole Christmas!) classic tale, The Lorax tells of a moustachioed and cantankerous critter who’s on a mission to protect the earth from the greedy, tree-chopping, Thneed-knitting businessman known only as The Once-ler. Adapted by David Greig and brought to the stage by acclaimed director Max Webster (James And The Giant Peach, To Kill A Mockingbird, Twelfth Night) with music by Charlie Fink (Noah and the Whale), The Lorax blends theatrical invention, songs by Charlie Fink (Noah and the Whale) and zany humour in a timely and vibrant Christmas show with a message that will speak to audiences of all ages. Clementine’s Seasonal Spectacular is certainly strange and unconventional. However, it also wonderfully original and made me laugh and smile more than any other Christmas production I’ve seen this winter. A real must-see (but make sure you pick the right type of performance!)
Get out and get a seat when Chitty comes to a theatre near you. Take your kids or just go and revel in the enormous joy that resonates off the stage in waves. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be entertaining young and old for a long time to come and who could want for more from a stage production.
Nutcracker! The Musical is a valiant effort that never quite sets out what it wanted to achieve. It’s not funny enough to be a panto or gripping enough to be true drama, however still contains enough festive magic to raise a smile.

Probably because, most of the time, I’m not actually acting. I suppose that to admit you’re an actress without that essential acting job, to people who don’t understand the highs and lows of the profession, causes moderate confusion on their part. Around the World in 80 Days is one of the classic tales by Jules Verne, who in the 19th century wrote epic stories of adventure and futuristic scenarios that still captivate the readers of today. This production at the St James Theatre until 17th January is a retelling by Laura Eason who pays due homage to the brilliance of the original whilst highlighting the contemporary relevance of the old story.
A lot of effort has been put into compiling this glorious book, giving one of the most comprehensive overviews of musicals (both on stage and on film), that I have seen in a long time.
