Carrie Hope Fletcher to star in Heathers at The Other Palace.

Following a successful workshop in 2017, Bill Kenwright and Paul Taylor-Mills are to present cult musical Heathers at The Other Palace for limited season in June 2018. Cult musical Heathers is back in class this summer and the show will be boasting new songs, new material and new classmates. Heathers is based on the 1988 classic teen film which starred Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. The show has gained cult status with production sin Los Angeles, and New York and now it’s London’s turn. Hot off the success of The Addams Family UK Tour and the release of her solo album, Carrie Hope Fletcher will play Veronica Sawyer in this twisted tale of friendship, teen drama and deadly obsession. Chicago is back in the West End at the Phoenix Theatre starring Cuba Gooding Jr, Sarah Soetaert, Josefina Gabrielle, Ruthie Henshall and Paul Rider. After a knockout show and standing ovation, the cast and other celebrities partied at L’Escargot. Chicago originally ran in London for 15 years, making it the West End’s longest running revival. The show continues to run on Broadway where it is the longest running American musical. Chicago has won six Tony Awards, two Olivier awards and a Grammy. The Olivier Awards 2018 were held last night at the Royal Albert Hall with Hamilton and The Ferryman amongst the nights biggest winners. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton was the big winner at last night’s Olivier Awards picking up not only the coveted award for Best New Musical, but also Best Actor in a Musical (Giles Terera), Best Supporting Actor In A Musical (Michael Jibson), Best Lighting Design, Best Sound Design, Best New Musical, Best Choreography and Outstanding Achievement in Music. Jez Butterworth’s play The Ferryman won Best New Play, Best Director for Sam Mendes alongside the award for Best Actress in a Play (Laura Donnelly). Linda Marlowe and Patrick Walshe McBride are announced as the new stars of Harold and Maude as producers announce a season extension at Charing Cross Theatre. Linda Marlowe and Patrick Walshe McBride are today announced as the new stars of the black comedy romantic drama Harold and Maude. Their first performance is Monday April 2 as the acclaimed production extends its run at Charing Cross Theatre by six weeks to Saturday May 12. They will take over from Sheila Hancock and Bill Milner, who will play their final perfomances as scheduled on Saturday March 31.  All the rest of original cast are staying for the extended season.
