Royal Albert Hall Box Office Staff Learn Klingon

Box Office staff at the Royal Albert Hall have undertaken a crash course in Klingon, ahead of the venue’s ‘Star Trek – In Concert’ and ‘Star Trek Beyond – In Concert’ events in June. Employees were asked to take classes in the ‘language’ after the Hall announced it would give two free tickets to anyone ordering in Klingon. The Royal Albert Hall called in one of the world’s foremost experts in Klingon, Alex Greene, to help the team master the warrior language. Lucy Noble, Artistic Director at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “Star Trek is a timeless classic with a huge cult following. We wanted to celebrate it and reward real Trekkies with this opportunity to win free tickets for those booking in Klingon. “I think the Box Office probably thought I was joking when we asked them to take Klingon lessons. But now they are chatting regularly in Klingon, … Read more

Harold and Maude at Charing Cross Theatre

As Harold and Maude starts previewing at Charing Cross Theatre starring Sheila Hancock and Bill Milner we bring you Darren Bell’s great production photos. Harold and Maude is an idiosyncratic romantic fable told though the eyes of the most unlikely pairing: a compulsive, self-destructive young man and a devil-may-care, septuagenarian bohemian. Dame Marjorie “Maude” Chardin (Sheila Hancock), is a free spirit who wears her hair in braids, believes in living each day to its fullest, and “trying something new every day”. Harold Parker Chasen (Bill Milner) is an 18-year-old man who is obsessed with death, attends funerals of strangers for entertainment and stages elaborate fake suicides. Through meeting Maude at a funeral, he discovers joy in living for the first time. INTERVIEW: Charlie Clements on The Case Of The Frightened Lady

Charlie Clements The Case Of The Frightened Lady

Former EastEnders star Charlie Clement tells us about new stage thriller The Case of The Frightened Lady now touring the UK How would you describe The Case Of The Frightened Lady? It is a tense thriller that all takes place in the stately home of Lord and Lady Lebanon. The play kicks off with a lavish fancy dress party celebrating the Restoration of Charles II. But something happens, and two police officers, Tanner and Totti, who I play, arrive to investigate. People end up dead and nobody knows who’s done it. There are always people moving and there are always people listening, so it creates this constant air of suspicion. Basically everyone has a motive to be the killer.
