Come From Away London will welcome new cast members to the Olivier Award-winning musical as the show enters its second year in the West End.
Come From Away
Come From Away is a musical with book, music and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein.
The musical is the story of events that happened as a result of the 9/11 attacks in the town of Gander, Newfoundland. When the USA closed its airspace for the first time ever, 38 planes carrying 7000 passengers were diverted and ordered to land in Gander. Over the next week the residents looked after the stranded travellers in an extraordinary act of human kindness.
Based on interviews with the locals undertaken by the writers, Come From Away has played on Broadway, in the West End, Australia and around the world with a live capture of the Broadway production now available on Apple TV.
The musical has won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical, The Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical, and the Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music.
In 2024, the musical will tour the UK starting at the Curve Leicester.
