Thriller Live celebrates 3000 performances in the West End

Last night, the cast of Thriller Live celebrated as the show celebrated its 3000th performance in the West End. Thriller has now been seen by more than 3 million people worldwide and is currently touring the UK. Producers Paul Walden & Derek Nicol said: “We are thrilled that Thriller Live continues to rock the West End, delighting audiences of all nationalitites in its 8th record-breaking year at the Lyric Theatre.” Thriller Live opened at the Lyric Theatre on January 26, 2009 and recently passed Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita to become the 17th Longest Running West End Musical of all time. Hairspray To Tour Again in 2017

Following the huge success of the current tour of Hairspray, Producer Mark Goucher has announced that the show will return at the end of 2017 for a second tour of the UK. The current tour of hairspray began at Leicester’s Curve Theatre and will conclude in May 2017. The production has been seen by just under a quarter of a million people with nine venues still to visit. Mark Goucher said: “I am delighted that after seeing this new production of Hairspray, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman have personally extended the rights to the show, in order for us to embark upon a second UK tour. As Jersey Boys approaches it’s 8th anniversary we got a chance to chat to Matt Corner who is playing Frankie Valli in the show that has become a massive hit around the world. Tell us a bit about your background? I grew up in Darlngton. As a youngster, I went to Stagecoach as a confidence building exercise and realised that I wanted to be an actor. I loved watching videos of Only Fools And Horses with David Jason, who I greatly admire, he’s just a genius as a comic actor. He was a huge inspiration and the reason I got into acting. I spent most of my time day dreaming at school. I’d be reading the text of Midsummer Night’s Dream stuck inside my maths text book.
