Sunny Afternoon Extends Booking Period To 31 January 2015

Sunny Afternoon, the critically acclaimed new musical which tells the story of the early life of Ray Davies and the rise to stardom of The Kinks, has extended its run until 31 January 2015. The show begins previews at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 4 October 2014. Following a sold-out run at Hampstead Theatre, this world premiere production, with music and lyrics by Ray Davies and new book by Joe Penhall, will open on 28 October. The cast of Sunny Afternoon is currently in rehearsals with director Edward Hall, Ray Davies and Joe Penhall. An official cast recording album has been produced by Ray Davies at his Konk studios, and will be released in October on Chrysalis BMG. The theatre auditorium will be re-configured for the run of the hit show. The Full Monty Kicks Off UK Tour

The Full Monty launched its UK tour last night at the Manchester Opera House. In 1997, A British film about six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers with nothing to lose, took the world by storm becoming one of the most successful British films ever made.  Adapted from his screenplay, Simon Beaufoy has captured the heart of the story including iconic son gs from the film by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones. The cast of The Full Monty includes Gary Lucy (Eastenders, The Bill, Footballer’s Wives), Andrew Dunn, Louis Emerick, Rupert Hill, Martin Miller and Bobby Schofield. Emma Thompson and Bryn Terfel to Bring Sweeney Todd To ENO in 2015

It was confirmed today that International opera star Bryn Terfel and Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson will reprise their roles as Sweeney Todd and Mrs Lovett in Stephen Sondheim’s gloriously gruesome musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street for a limited season at the London Coliseum in early 2015. Following critically-acclaimed performances at New York’s Lincoln Center earlier this year, this sell-out staging comes to ENO  with just 13 performances from 30 March – 12 April. Sweeney Todd will be the first production in a major new long-term partnership between ENO and The GradeLinnit Company.
