This year’s Olivier Awards look set to be amongst the most exciting in recent times with Harry Potter And The Cursed Child receiving 11 nominations, Groundhog Day (8 nominations), The Glass Menagerie (7 nominations)  and Dreamgirls (5 nominations) featuring prominently. Presented by The Society Of London Theatre, The Olivier Awards are named after Sir Laurence Olivier, one of Britain’s finest actors. Thies year the awards will be held on 9 April 2017 at The Royal Albert Hall in London. Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Moves Closer To Broadway Run

Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, together with J K Rowling have today confirmed that talks are now well underway to bring the record-breaking show to Broadway in Spring 2018. Exclusive talks are now being held with the Ambassador Theatre Group to bring the hit play to the Lyric Theatre on Broadway. ATG are currently planning multi-million dollar renovations to remodel, transform and reconfigure the 1900 seat theatre, turning it into a more intimate theatre with approximately 1500 seats. Friedman and Callender said “We are thrilled about ATG’s ambitious plans which will provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to create a unique theatre space tailored to the specific needs of the production over the play’s two parts. Harry Potter And The Cursed Child held an opening gala on 30 July 2016. Following rave reviews earlier this week Sonia Friedman, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions, producers of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, announced that a further 250,000 tickets will be released for sale next week on Thursday 4 August 2016 at 11am BST, booking through to 10 December 2017. The regular performance schedule is as follows – Monday – no performance, Tuesday – no performance, Wednesday – 2pm Part One & 7.30pm Part Two, Thursday – 7.30pm Part One, Friday – 7.30pm Part Two, Saturday – 2pm Part One & 7.30pm Part Two, Sunday – 1pm Part One & 6.30pm Part Two. As rehearsals begin, Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender are delighted to announce that joining Jamie Parker (Harry), Noma Dumezweni (Hermione) and Paul Thornley (Ron) are Nicola Alexis, Helen Aluko, Jeremy Ang Jones, Rosemary Annabella, Annabel Baldwin, Jack Bennett, Paul Bentall, Anthony Boyle, Zoe Brough, Sam Clemmett, Morag Cross, Cristina Fray, Rudi Goodman, Claudia Grant, James Howard, Christiana Hutchings, Lowri James, Chris Jarman, Martin Johnston, Bili Keogh, Chipo Kureya, James Le Lacheur, Helena Lymbery, Barry McCarthy, Sandy McDade, Andrew McDonald, Tom Mackley, Adam McNamara, Poppy Miller, Tom Milligan, Jack North, Alex Price, Stuart Ramsay, Nuno Silva, Cherrelle Skeete, Esther Smith, Nathaniel Smith, Dylan Standen and Joshua Wyatt who complete the casting for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
