We are pleased to bring you some great first look rehearsal photos by Johan Persson for the new West End production of Edward Albee’s classic American drama Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolfe which opens at the Harold Pinter Theatre for a limited 13 week season from 22 February 2017. This will be the first production of the play since Albee’s death last September. The play will be directed by James Macdonald and stars Imelda Staunton as Martha, Conleth Hill as George, Imogen Poots as Honey and Luke Treadaway as Nick. Sonia Friedman will produce a new production of Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? starring Imelda Staunton and Conleth Hill at the Harold Pinter Theatre for a limited 13 week season. In the early hours of the morning on the campus of an American college, Martha, much to her husband George’s displeasure, has invited the new professor Nick and his wife Honey to their home for some after-party drinks. As the alcohol flows and dawn approaches, the young couple are drawn into George and Martha’s toxic games until the evening reaches its climax in a moment of devastating truth-telling. The UK tour cast for the multi award-winning musical Sunny Afternoon was announced today. Producers have also announced extra dates to the extensive tour. The tour which opens in Manchester on Friday 19 August 2016, is based on the true story Ray Davies and of 60’s British rock group The Kinks. The Sunny Afternoon UK Tour will star Ryan O’Donnell as Ray Davies, with Mark Newnham as Dave Davies, Garmon Rhys as bassist Pete Quaife and Andrew Gallo as drummer Mick Avory. Gawn Grainger joins the cast of The Entertainer

Following John Hurt’s withdrawal from the upcoming production of The Entertainer following medical advice, it has been announced that Gawn Grainger will now play Billy Rice. Gawn Grainger began his career as the Boy Prince in Ivor Novello’s King’s Rhapsody at the Prince’s Theatre when he was twelve years old. Recent stage credits include The Cherry Orchard (Young Vic), Macbeth (Shakespeare’s Globe) and The Recruiting Officer (Donmar Warehouse). Other work in the West End includes Onassis, Absolutely Perhaps and The Crucible. Gawn was also a company member in Laurence Olivier’s inaugural season at the National Theatre’s South Bank venue in 1976. Previous productions at the National Theatre include A Woman Killed With Kindness, Some Trace Of Her, Sing Your Heart Out For The Lands, The Passion, The Seagull and The Misanthrope.
