Hugh Jackman is one of the most recognisable faces working in film today. The Australian born actor is perhaps best known for his role as Wolverine from the X-Men franchise, having played Wolverine no less than nine times on screen in high grossing films such as X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The latest instalment of the franchise Logan was released in 2017, with Jackman stating it was to be the final time he’d play the role.

Aside from his work as Wolverine, Jackman has played roles in a diverse range of films such as Van Helsing, The Fountain, Australia and Eddie The Eagle.

In 2012, Jackman was cast in the incredibly successful film adaptation of Les Misérables. Playing the role of Jean Valjean, Jackman won much praise for his performance, earning an Academy Award nomination and winning a Golden Globe for Best Actor Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

Last year, the actor took his singing talents to the big screen again for the hit musical The Greatest Showman. The soundtrack for the box-office smash became a global phenomenon, topping the albums chart in both the US and UK.

Alongside film, the actor is highly respected in the theatre community, winning a Tony Award in 2004 for his performance in the title role in the Broadway production of The Boy From Oz. In 2015 Jackman toured Australia with a live orchestra, performing songs from the musical as well as other Broadway classics.
