StageCon Postponed

The organisers of StageCon, the UK’s first convention for theatre fans throughout the UK and Europe, have announced they are postponing the event until 2019, passing control to United Theatrical as Producer and General Manager.  StageCon was originally planned to run over the weekend of 3 & 4 November at Shoreditch Town Hall in London. When StageCon was announced in August, the organisers were overwhelmed by the responses they received.  It was clear this was an event that fans of theatre were excited about, but, at the same time, they have realised that the ticket pricing necessary to cover the costs of the event was too high for some, particularly younger members of the community. New immersive theatre space to be launched in London

The Buzz Immersive Entertainment

The Buzz, thought to be the UK’s first purpose-built immersive theatre space is set to launch in Southwark in London in November. Building has begun on The Buzz as part of the popular Mercato Metropolitano, a market-style complex of bars and restaurants in Newington Causeway, opposite the current site of Southwark Playhouse and close to Elephant & Castle tube station. The project is a collaboration between immersive theatre and production professionals ebp, who were behind the Olivier-nominated immersive show Alice’s Adventures Underground, and Limelight Productions which specialises in stage adaptations of TV and literary brands such as Peppa Pig. They want this fully flexible performing arts space to “provide leading theatre creatives with a space to grow ideas on a blank canvas”.
