With lyrics by Tim Rice abd music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jesus Christ Superstar stars Declan Bennett who plays the role of Jesus. Declan was the original lead in the London cast of Once (Phoenix), and has also appeared in Boy George’s musical Taboo (Venue Theatre), Rent (US tour and Broadway), American Idiot (Broadway) as well as on BBC’s EastEnders as Charlie Cotton. As a solo singer-songwriter, his album Record:BREAKUP was released as a live acoustic version in 2013. The UK’s first ever openly gay play comes to the King’s Head Theatre as part of their 2016 Queer Season.  Colin Spencer’s Spitting Image is a witty and groundbreaking piece examining societies reaction when gay couple Gary and Tom concieve a child in sixties London. Originally produced at the Hampstead Theatre Club in 1968, the play marked a radical sea change in British society. It was met with acclaim, transferring to the West End’s Duke of York Theatre, and moral outrage in equal measure. At the time, homosexuality had been decriminalised the previous year and the passing of the Theatres Act meant that for the first time since 1737, new plays were free from oppressive government censorship. Amanda Holden will play the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella at the London Palladium

Producers have announced that Amanda Holden will play The Fairy Godmother in the highly anticipated London Palladium production of Cinderella. Cinderella will run at the London Palladium for five weeks only over the Festive season from 9 December 2016 to Sunday 15 January 2017. Holden joins the previously announced cast of Paul O’Grady as The Wicked Stepmother, Julian Clary as Dandini, Lee Mead as Prince Charming, Paul Zerdin as Buttons, Nigel Havers as Lord Chamberlain and Count Arthur Strong as Baron Hardup.
