Tonight With Donny Stixx Comes To The Bunker

Tonight with Donny Stixx by Philip Ridley

Fresh from its critically acclaimed 2015 Edinburgh Festival season, Metal Rabbit, in association with the Bunker Theatre will present Philip Ridley’s Tonight With Dony Stixx. Donny has committed an act that shocked everyone. Tabloids called him The Most Hated Boy Alive. But, despite this, Donny doesn’t want forgiveness. All Donny wants is his own television show. Written originally as the companion piece to Fringe First winning Dark Vanilla Jungle, this brutal monologue leaves us in flux between sympathy and loathing, shocked by what unfolds. Stixx is a compelling one-man show about our celebrity-obsessed culture, the damage our parents can inflict on us and the dangers of delusion. Tonight with Donny Stixx is directed by David Mercatali, and performed by Sean Michael Verey. Tonight with Donny Stixx will run at The Bunker from 8 November – 3 December 2016. Big Shot The Musical

There really is no infrastructure in Ireland for making work of this kind, which makes the achievement all the more striking. Everyone has another job, or two, and time has to be snatched to rush away from other responsibilities to do this job. Yet, there they all are, sticking together, helping each other along, and making something really rather lovely happen.
