On Thursday 8 September 2016, audience members are invited to a special ‘Rock-a-Long’ performance of the show at the Arts Theatre, where the show is now enjoying a return engagement by popular demand. Rumpy Pumpy!, A new saucy British by Barbara Jane Mackie will be presented in London and Windsor in November 2016. Based on a true story, Rumy Pumpy! sees Shirley Landels and Jean Johnnson, two ladies from the Hampshire WI who fight for working girls everywhere trying to decriminalise prostitution and improve conditions. When Holly Spencer, a brother madam, gets in touch asking if they could help with her brothel she quips: ‘You ladies make the tea and we’ll bring the crumpets!’ Linda Nolan (The Nolans, Blood Brothers) and Louise Jameson (Doctor Who, Eastenders) will lead the cast of Rumpy Pumpy! playing Jean Landels and Shirley Johnson. Paul Nicholls, Jack Ellis and Ben Onwukwe will star in Bill Kenwright’s 2016 tour of The Shawshank Redemption. Based on the classic film and based on the short story by Stephen King, the Shawshank Redemption is back following a successful tour in 2015. In the new tour of The Shawshank Redemption Paul Nicholls (Eastenders, Grantchester) will play Andy Dufresne, Ben Onwukwe (London’s Burning, RSC) will play Red, and Jack Ellis (Bad Girls, Prime Suspect) will plat Warden Stammas. Made for a relatively small budget, the film of The Shankshaw Redemption now tops many polls of the Greatest Films Ever Made. David Bowie’s Lazarus Comes To London This October

Before his passing, David Bowie and Edna Walsh premiered their new musical Lazarus in New York. Producers announced today that the show will have its London premiere in October 2016. Lazarus is inspired by the book, The Man Who Fell To Earth. Thomas Newton, as he remains still on Earth – a ‘man’ unable to die, his head soaked in cheap gin and haunted by a past love. We follow Newton during the course of a few days where the arrival of another lost soul – might set him finally free. Lazarus had its world premiere at the New York Theatre Workshop in November 2015, selling out in record time.
