Fire Holborn Closes Theatres

Several London shows have been cancelled tonight as a blaze took hold in Holborn. The blaze has left Holborn tube closed and the local area without power. Show affected at this time include Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, The Play That Goes Wrong and The Lion King. There is currently uncertainty about Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, and Gypsy. At the time of writing Mamma Mia! looked like it would be performing as normal. Patrons with tickets to shows in the Aldwych/ Covent Garden area are advised to check with the theatre first as to whether shows will be performing tonight. Family Drama Hard Graft To Open At Ovalhouse

David is making a show about his dad, but he doesn’t want him to see it. Hard Graft explores how much can change between one generation of a family and the next and the lengths we go to bridge the divide. A performance about reluctant fathers and wayward sons set against the backdrop of the occasional mining disaster and the fading industrial landscapes of South Wales. The piece, which was originally seed commissioned by Ovalhouse last year, is being presented as part of their current spring season Public/Private, before touring later this year. David Sheppeard is a theatre artist and producer based in Brighton, whose previous work have been developed at The Nightingale, Ovalhouse and Battersea Arts Centre. Curious Cast Celebrate Onesie Wednesday

Today is National Autism Awareness Week and the cast of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In the Night Time have shown support by taking part in Onesie Wednesday today, encouraging everyone to wear their onesies or pyjames to work to stand out for autism. Cast members Graham Butler, Sarah Woodward, Gay Soper, Roxanne Palmer, Sam Bond and Viv Acheampong gathered for a photo-call on the set of the show today. Graham Butler who plays Christopher in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time said: “Me and my fellow cast mates are delighted to show our support for World Autism Awareness Week’s ‘Onesie Wednesday’.
