Following a smash hit run at London’s Arts Theare,  Ghost Stories, written by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman, has announced that it is extending its run to January 2015. A truly terrifying theatrical experience written and directed by The League of Gentlemen’s master of the macabre, Jeremy Dyson, and Andy Nyman, co-creator and director of Derren Brown’s television and stage shows and star of Dead Set, Severance and Kick Ass 2. Ghost Stories mixes the very best of theatre with the buzz of a thrill-ride, delivering something truly unique. With some new moments of shock, this revival promises more jolts than ever. Elaine Stritch passes away at 89

BritishTheatre.com is saddened to report that theatre legend Elaine Stritch passed away at her home this morning, aged 89. Her stage credits included Loco (1946), Bus Stop (1955 – Tony Nominated), Sail Away (1961), Company (1970), A Delicate Balance (1996), Small Craft Warnings (1973), The Gingerbread Lady (1974), Showboat (1994) and A Little Night Music (2010). Her one woman show Elaine Stritch at Liberty in 2001 was a Tony Award winner and played seasons in both the UK and USA. During her career, which spanned seven decades she appeared in television shows including The Growing Paynes (1949), The Goodyear Television Playhouse (1953-55), The Ed Sullivan Show (1954), she was also the first and original Trixie Norton in the pilot for The Honeymooners sketch with Jackie Gleeson, Art Carney and Pert Kelton. Skylight Recoups Investment in Five Weeks

Just five weeks after it’s critically acclaimed opening night, Stephen Daldry’s revival of Skylight has announced it has recouped its costs. The production which stars Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan has broken box office records at the Wyndhams Theatre and continues to play to sell-out houses. Jersey Boys – UK and Irish Tour Cast Announced

The producers of the Jersey Boys UK tour today announced the full cast for the first ever tour of the multi-award winning musical. Tim Driesen will star as Frankie Valli, with Stephen Webb, Sam Ferriday and Lewis Griffiths will star as Tommy DeVito, Bob Gaudio and Nick Massi respectively. Matt Corner will play the role of Frankie Valli at certain performances.
