Stomp closes in London on 8 January 2018

After a fifteen year run in London’s West End, Stomp will end it’s run on 7 January 2018. The Olivier Award-winning show is currently playing at the Ambassadors Theatre where it has enjoyed a record-breaking ten year run. The creators of Stomp, Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell added today that this will not be the end of Stomp in London:- “We want to emphasise that we don’t consider this the end of Stomp here; we actually feel it’s going to be good for the show to take a break, reconfigure, reinvent and return at some point in the future in a different London venue, where we can present the show in a way that is more in keeping with its original ethos.” Stomp was first performed in 1991 in Edinburgh.  The show played Sadler’s Wells Theatre in January 1994 and won the Olivier Award for Best Choreography, before opening in New … Read more

FIRST LOOK: The Bridge Theatre, London’s Newest Theatre

This past weekend Nicholas Hytner and Nick Starr welcomed the first ever audience to The Bridge Theatre. London’s newest theatre is situated on the river by Tower Bridge and City Hall. The Bridge Theatre is the flagship theatre of the London Theatre Company and is the first major theatre to be added to London’s commercial theatre stock in eighty years. On Saturday night of the Bridge and Young Bridge members were invited to try out the new theatre for the first time. They saw the theatre’s first production Young Marx.
