Yet another Sweeney Todd sets up shop in London this week on a vastly different scale to the intimate affair at Harrington’s Pie And Mash Shop on Shaftesbury Avenue. Starring Emma Thompson, Bryn Terfel, Matthew Seadon-Young, Katie Hall, Philip Quast, Jack North, Alex Gaumond, Rosalie Craig and John Owen-Jones, this production runs until April 12 at the London Colliseum. The West End production of Beautiful – The Carole King musical opened last night at the Aldwych Theatre. Beautiful – The Carole King Musical is the untold story of her journey from school girl to superstar; from her relationship with husband and song-writing partner Gerry Goffin, their close friendship and playful rivalry with fellow song-writing duo Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, to her remarkable rise to stardom. Along the way, she became one of the most successful solo acts in music history, and wrote the soundtrack to a generation. Katie Brayben plays the title role of Carole King. Cats Opens At London Palladium

Nicole Scherzinger made her theatrical stage debut as the London Palladium last night playing Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats. This special revival is playing at the London Palladium for a limited run and re-unites the shows original creative team of Director Trevor Nunn, Choreographer Gillian Lynne, and Designer John Napier who have given the show a face lift 33 years after it first opened at the New London Theatre. Cats was to become one of the longest-running shows on Broadway and in the West End winning major theatrical awards worldwide with a combined audience of over 50 million people and counting. Last night’s audience included Elaine Paige who originated the role of Grizabella in 1981 and the composers family. Don’t miss out on seeing this classic musical in its revamped glory. Cats runs until 28th February 2015.

Jeremy Swift will play Mr Perks and Caroline Harker will be recreating the role of Mother in the Olivier Award-winning production of Mike Kenny’s stage adaptation of E. Nesbit’s novel The Railway Children when it returns to London on 16 December 2014 in its new home, the King’s Cross Theatre. The Railway Children tells the story of Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis, three children whose lives change dramatically when their father is mysteriously taken away. They move from London to a cottage in rural Yorkshire with their mother, where they befriend the local railway porter, Perks, and embark on a magical journey of discovery, friendship and adventure.
