Billy Elliot turns 10

Last night, Billy Elliot celebrated ten years in the West End. The show’s gala opening night took place exactly 10 years ago yesterday. To co-incide with the 10th anniversary, the show announced that it will launch it’s first UK tour in 2016 with dates to be announced shortly. In attendance last night were Elton John, Stephen Daldry, and Lee Hall. Elton John said: “When Stephen, Lee and I started work on Billy Elliot the Musical I knew this was going to be something very special. It’s no secret that I fell in love with the film and from that moment I was convinced Billy’s story should be seen on stage. When I saw the show for the first time back in 2005 I was completely bowled over and ten years and forty London Billy Elliots later, I couldn’t be more proud of this extraordinary show. Matthew Morrison from Glee and Laura Michelle Kelly in Finding Neverland on Broadway

Finding Neverland opens tonight on Broadway following a Sold Out preview period, and we are pleased to bring you some of the great production photos from this show. Finding Neverland On Broadway stars Matthew Morrison (Glee, Hairspray), Kelsey Grammer (Frasier, La Cage Aux Folles), Britain’s very own Laura Michelle Kelly (Mary Poppins) and Carolee Carmello (Parade). Based on the Miramax film of the same name, Finding Neverland follows playwright J.M. Barrie as he summons the courage to become the writer – and the man – he yearns to be. Barrie finds the inspiration he’s been missing when he meets the beautiful widow Sylvia and her four young sons: Jack, George, Michael and Peter. Delighted by the boys’ hilarious escapades, Barrie conjures the magical world of Neverland and writes a play unlike any the high-society London theatre-goers have ever seen. It’s a tremendous risk, but as Barrie himself has discovered— when … Read more

Rehearsals have started for McQueen which opens at the St James Theatre on 12th May 2015. McQueen is a journey into the visionary imagination and dark dream world of Alexander McQueen, fashion’s greatest contemporary artist.  Set on a single London night, it is more than a bio-play. It is stepping into the fairy story landscape of McQueen’s mind, the landscape seen in his immortal shows, where with a dress an urchin can become an Amazon, where beauty might just help us survive the night.  A girl has watched McQueen’s Mayfair house for eleven consecutive days. Tonight she climbs down from her watching tree and breaks into his house, to steal a dress, to become someone special. He catches her, but, instead of calling the police, they embark together on a journey through London and into his heart. Award-winning actor Stephen Wight (Sherlock, The Ladykillers) takes on the role of Le McQueen … Read more
