Julie Atherton joins the cast of Made In Ldn

Julie Atheron (Avenue Q, Sister Act) and Andy Coxon (Les Miserables, Beautiful) will join the new monthly showcase for British Musical Theatre talent entitled made In Ldn presented by Interval Productions and The Cock Pit Theatre. Made In Ldn launches this Sunday 13th March at 7pm. This exciting cast will be performing work from Aaron Lee Lambert’s From Up Here, Sam Cassidy and Matt Wills’ 27, Luke Bateman and Mary Evans’ H.R.Haitch, Scott Morgan’s Strange People, Tori Allen-Martin and Tim Prottey Jones’ Equally, Sarah Henley and James Fox’s The Unblinding and Tim Gilvin’s original pieces, plus excerpts from Stay Awake Jake. Theatre Re will present Blind Man’s Song, a wordless tale about the power of imagination that blends together physical theatre, mime, sound, illusion and a beautiful love music score. The show will  undertake and international tour following a run at the Pleasance in April/May. As an old blind man takes unsteady steps around a room, he recalls an encounter that triggers his memories and imagination and a story of love, courage and hope unfolds. Inspired by interviews with blind and visually-impaired people, Blind Man’s Song is a tale about one man’s rage against his world of darkness. Casting has been announced for Forever Plaid at the St James Theatre. The cast of four is Jon Lee (Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, original member of British pop band S Club 7), Keith Jack (Joseph in Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, runner-up in BBC’s Any Dream Will Do), Matthew Quinn (Dreamboats and Petticoats, West End) and Luke Striffler (UK tours of Hairspray and Avenue Q, runner-up with The Kingdom Tenors on Britain’s Got Talent 2015). Forever Plaid is a revue that pays tribute to close harmony guy groups  that reached the height of their popularity during the 1950s. Personifying the clean-cut genre are the Plaids. Emily Atack will now play the role of Holly Golightly in the UK Tour of Breakfast at Tiffany’s from 2 May to 11 June 2016, appearing at His Majesty’s Aberdeen, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Theatre Royal Bath, Glasgow Theatre Royal, King’s Theatre Edinburgh and Wycombe Swan. She will be replacing Verity Rushworth, who has had to withdraw because she is expecting her first child. Emily will be sharing the role with Pixie Lott, whose dates, including the West End season, have been announced previously. Emily can currently be seen in the highly anticipated remake of Dad’s Army, which topped the UK box office earlier this year. Emily stars as Daphne alongside an all-star cast that includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bill Nighy, Toby Jones & Michael Gambon. Producers at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre have announced today that Michelle Terry will play the title role of Henry V directed by Robert Hastie and that Declan Bennett will take on the title role in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar to be directed by Artistic Director Timothy Sheader. Henry V will be presented from 17 June – 9 July 2016. Olivier Award-winning actress Michelle Terry plays the title role in Henry V. With a wealth of Shakespearean roles to her credit, Terry takes on the role of King Henry in this new production as part of Shakespeare400. Terry is most noted for her numerous roles at The Globe, RSC and the National Theatre (currently appearing in Cleansed), as well as Privacy (Donmar Warehouse) and Before the Party (Almeida).
