  Wicked is to become the 16th longest running show in West End history tonight when it plays its 4567th performance at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. Wicked which recently announced a major UK tour surpasses Billy Elliot. The multi award-winning musical features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Winnie Holzman based on Gregory Maquire’s novel. Wicked currently stars Alice Fearn (Elphaba), Sophie Evans (Glinda), Bradley Jaden (Fiyero), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose), Jack Lansbury (Boq), Laura Pick (Standby for Elphaba) and Carina Gillespie (Standby for Glinda). Full casting announcedfor stage adaptation of The Knowledge at Charing Cross Theatre

The cast has been announced for the world premiere of a new stage adaptation of Jack Rosenthal’s classic British film, The Knowledge. Steven Pacey, Celine Abrahams, James Alexandrou, Jenna Augen, Louise Callaghan, Ben Caplan, Michael Chance, Alice Felgate and Fabien Frankel have joined the show which runs at Charing Cross Theatre from 4 September to 11 November. It will be directed by Maureen Lipman who not only played one of the lead roles in the film but is also the widow of Jack Rosenthal. It has been adapted for the stage by Simon Block. The 1979 movie, which also starred Nigel Hawthorne, follows the hilarious struggles of four Londoners as they attempt to better themselves by attempting the fearsome “Knowledge” – the process of becoming a London black cab taxi driver. Kenneth Branagh to direct Tom Hiddleston in Hamlet in support of RADA

  RADA will join forces with The Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company for a co-production of Hamlet to raise funds to aid the capital woprks at  RADA’s Chenies Street site in London. Hamlet will be directed by Kenneth Branagh and will feature RADA alumnus Tom Hiddleston in the title role. The show will play a straictly limited three week run at RADA’s 160-seat Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre from 1 – 23 September 2017.   Producers have announced that Bronté Barbé is to play Carole King in the upcoming UK tour of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical which opens at the Bradford Alhambra  on 9 September 2017. Bronté was a finalist inAndrew Lloyd Webber’s TV talent search Over The Rainbow in 2010 and has since appeared in Cool Rider (West End), Shrek the musical UK tour playing Princess Fiona and most recently in The Wild Party at The Other Palace.
