J K Rowling has announced that the forthcoming West End play Harry Potter And The Cursed Child will be presented in two parts. The stage play by Jack Thorne is based on a new story by J K Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany and will premiere in Summer 2016 at London’s Palace Theatre. Playwright Jack Thorne said ‘Obviously I loved it when we decided to tell this story in two parts,’ Jack tells us, ‘because I got to spend more time with the characters and what an honour that has been. ‘It continues to be unbelievable and amazing that I’ve been given this extraordinary chance to bring Harry Potter to the stage. It has been announced that Michael Ball will play Mack Sennett in a major new revival of Jerry Herman’s Mack and Mabel which will play at the Chichester Festival Theatre prior to touring. Mack and Mabel is the story of the relationship between silent film star Mabel Normand and Keystone Cops director Mack Sennett. The productions will be directed by Jonathan Church and choreographed by Stephen Mear. Mack And Mabel received eight Tony nominations when it opened on Broadway in 1974.  Herman’s other shows include The Grand Tour, Hello Dolly!
