Peter Quilter’s new dark comedy Saving Jason opens at the Park Theatre this week. The play will run from 2 November to 3 December 2016. This new play from the two-time Olivier Award-nominated writer of the West End/Broadway hits Over The Rainbow and Glorious! will be directed by Steven Dexter.
Saving Jason is set in a 1996 suburban household, where Trevor and Linda continue to struggle with their rebellious teenage son, Jason. In a moment of madness, they hatch a plan to change his lifestyle of midnight raves, suspicious friends and Ecstasy tablets. By staging a fake funeral for Jason in the family living room, Trevor and Linda hope their bleak vision of their son’s future will change his hedonistic ways. As the wider family joins in the charade, the evening descends into a whirlwind of drink, pills and muffins in a bid to save Jason’s soul.
The cast of Saving Jason includes Jacques Miché, Tor Clark, Cory Peterson, William Oxborrow, Julie Armstrong and Paddy Navin.
