Cirque Du Soleil are back in London for what has become their regularly residency at London's Royal Albert Hall and this year they have more than delivered the goods with their latest offering - Kooza!
Kooza tells the story of the Innocent, a naive but charming clown striving to find his own place in the world. Kooza is an incredibly exciting production that combines clowning and acrobatics in a production that was nothing short of breath-taking.
As with all Cirque Du Soleil productions, Kooza is visually rich. Billowy sales envelop a Bataclan that contains the shows vocalists and musicians whilst above an enormous sprawling clutter of wires and scaffold enable this production to achieve impossible and thrilling heights.
Highlight of last night's performance included the High Wire (performed by Angel Quiros Dominguez, Vincente Quiros Dominguez, Roberto Quiros and Brayan Sanchez). These four ran the high wire both by foot and on bikes as though they defied the laws of gravity. Jimmy Ibarra and Ronald Solis performed the Wheel of Death. Once again these talented performers performed a breath-taking routine which had me believing that not only the aforementioned high wire walkers but the entire company had gravity immunity. These performers display bravado and skills that had the entire Royal Albert Hall gasping with delight.
Take these two acts and add contortionists, trapeze artists, unicyclists, acrobats on a teeterboard, hoops manipulation and an acrobat balancing on chairs and you get an evening of dazzling talent that is never boring and will leave you on your feet yelling for more.
Cirque Du Soleil have delivered a world class production to start the New Year. It's simply unmissable entertainment that is suitable for the whole family.
If you haven't seen a Cirque Du Soleil show then you simply must buy a ticket to Kooza!
Kooza runs at the Royal Albert Hall until February 19th. Book your tickets to Kooza now
