The disappointment was evident across social media recently when it was announced that West End Live was amongst the casualties of the COVID-19 pandemic this year. It has been announced that Virtual West End Live 2020 will be celebrating virtually on 20-21 June with two online programmes.

The two programmes will feature performance highlights from the last five years of West End Live. Both programmes can be viewed on the West End Live Facebook page for 24 hours only with one released on Saturday and one on Sunday.

The programmes will start at 2pm on both Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st 2020. Each programme will be captioned.

The programmes will feature highlights from & Juliet, The Barricade Boys, Bat Out Of Hell, Come From Away, Dreamgirls, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Heathers, Jersey Boys, Kinky Boots, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Matilda, Memphis, Les Miserables, Only Fools and Horses, The Phantom Of The Opera, School of Rock, Six, Strictly Ballroom, Sunny Afternoon, Tina!, Waitress and Wicked.

West End Live is also partnering with Sky VIP to commission a series of 15 minute videos with various West End shows. Sky customers will be amongst the first to view these videos, the videos will be then be released on YouTube after the weekend.

West End Live is run by Westminster Council and the Society of London Theatre and has established itself over the years as a highlight of the theatrical year. It is a unique event for a world capital and one that provides a brilliant free taster of wonderful shows and an introduction into the wider West End for tens of thousands of visitors who go on to enjoy shops, restaurants, and other attractions.

We will keep updating this page with scheduling information comes to hand. Here’s hoping theatres are back soon and that West End Live is back with us next year.
