Thriller Live ended its 11 year run at London’s Lyric Theatre on Sunday 15 March 2020, a bit earlier than planned when London theatres closed due to Coronavirus.

Thriller Live West End closes

Can it really be eleven years since Thriller Live opened in the West End? Originally booked to play just six months from January to May 2009, it became a focal point for fans mourning the sudden loss of the man they labelled The King Of Pop. In place of huge concerts at the O2, fans found a brilliantly staged tribute that paid homage to their idol and it wasn’t long before it started to sell out and extend. In fact, it extended twenty times!

Thriller Live closed on 15 March 2020 after playing 4657 performances making it the 11th longest-running West End musical of all time. It also holds the record as the longest-running show at the Lyric Theatre since it opened in 1868.

Thriller Live has now been seen by over 5 million people in 33 countries and played over 7,000 performances worldwide, never failing to get a standing ovation!
