Theatres cancellations return as a result of Covid-19

As the Omicron variant overtakes the UK far faster than first realised, theatres across the UK are once again in peril as shows are forced to cancel performances or in some cases entire seasons. This is the latest list of theatre cancellations update dated 18 December 2021.

West End Theatre
Please help keep the West End and theatres UK wide open by wearing a mask and supporting the industry in your compliance.

Many West End Theatres and theatres across the UK are currently feeling the effects of the Omicron Covid-19 variation with performances being cancelled at short notice as testing shows up more cases. The list of theatre cancellations so far are listed below.

We’ve also now added a list of pantomimes and touring productions affected. See below.

This is going to be a trying time for everyone concerned, but please remember masks are now mandatory. Please follow guidelines for the safety of theatre staff, your fellow patrons, performers and most importantly for yourselves.

Here’s an overview of what shows have cancelled and what is still awaiting re-opening.

Some producers and casts have been hit hard, and we must express our sadness to hear from Katy Lipson that new musical The Rhythmics was having to cancel the whole season at Southwark Playhouse caused by cast sickness and the postponement of two press nights which combined with a limited Off West End season provided this current season with a fatal blow.

If your show has been cancelled or postponed you will be contacted by the relevant box office. Obviously, be patient as resolving these issues can take a little bit of time.
