The nominees for the 2018 Olivier Awards have been announced with Hamilton receiving a record 13 nominations. Elaine Paige and Alexandra Burke have announced the nominations for the 2018 Olivier Awards. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton leads the race with a record-breaking 13 nominations closely followed by The Ferryman with 8 nominations. The 2018 Olivier Awards will be held at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 8 April 2018 in a ceremony hosted by Catherine Tate. Douglas Mayo nominated his favourites. 42nd Street (Theatre Royal Drury Lane) Never did I ever think I would see a production of 42nd Street on stage on the scale that is currently on stage at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The cast including Tom Lister, Jasna Ivir, Clare Halse, Stuart Neal and the sublime Sheena Easton would have been more than enough but add Douglas W Schmidt’s incredible set that fully utilised the enormous stage of the Theatre Royal and Roger Kirk’s fabulous costumes and you were all set for an experience unlike any other. Mel Brooks' new musical comedy Young Frankenstein will come to London's Garrick Theatre in Autumn 2017

Following the success of Mel Brooks’ smash hit musical The Producers comes Young Frankenstein – a new musical comedy based on Brooks’ smash hit movie of the same name which will open at London’s Garrick Theatre on 28 September 2017. Young Frankenstein tickets are now on sale. Young Frankenstein, the wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic, see’s Frederick Frankenstein, an esteemed New York brain surgeon and professor, inherit a castle and laboratory in Transylvania from his deranged genius grandfather, Victor Von Frankenstein. Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein To Open In West End

Mel Brooks will bring Young Frankenstein the musical to London's West End via the Theatre Royal Newcastle.

Mel Brooks has announced that his musical Young Frankenstein is heading to the UK. Based on his 1974 of the same name, Young Frankenstein will open at the Newcastle Theatre Royal for a limited pre-West End engagement from 26 August to 9 September 2017, before opening in London’s West End in Autumn 2017. Following a limited Broadway run, Young Frankenstein is being re-worked. Brooks will work with co-writer Thomas Meehan and collaborate with Broadway director and choreographer Susan Stroman for for this all-singing all-dancing new production.
