The Bodyguard and Beverley back in the West End
International hit musical The Bodyguard will return to the West End for a limited six month run with Beverley Knight once again as the lead. Public booking will open on 12 February 2016 for performances beginning at the Dominion Theatre on 15 July 2016. This strictly limited season ends on 7 January 2017. Based on Lawrence Kasdan’s 1992 Oscar nominated Warner Bros. film, Thea Sharrock’s production of The Bodyguard has book by Alex Dinelaris, choreography is by Karen Bruce, orchestrations by Chris Egan and is produced by Michael Harrison and David Ian. Alexandra Burke To Star In Bodyguard Tour
Producers David Ian and Michael Harrison announced today that three-time Brit nominee and X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke, will star as Rachel Marron in the forthcoming UK tour of The Bodyguard. Alexandra Burke said: “I couldn’t be happier to be joining the tour and I’m excited to get started. Being on the theatre stage has brought me great happiness. It is an honour to have been asked to join the team and I look forward to creating new and long lasting memories with the cast.” Based on Laurence Kasdan’s 1992 film, The Bodyguard, which starred Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, the musical is the story of former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, who is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. The Bodyguard announces tour of UK and Ireland
Producers Michael Harrison and David Ian today announced the UK and Ireland tour dates for Thea Sharrock’s hit production of the West End musical The Bodyguard. The tour opened at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton on Thursday 12 February 2015 before embarking on a two year UK and Ireland tour. Schedule below with further dates to be announced. Based on Lawrence Kasdan’s 1992 Oscar nominated Warner Bros. film, The Bodyguard has a book by Alex Dinelaris and opened at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End in December 2012, where it played to packed houses and standing ovations.
