I Love You You're Perfect Now Change - Above The Arts Theatre

Watching Julie Atherton, Simon Lipkin, Gina Best and Samuel Holmes work their magic, individually, in couples, and as a quartet, it was difficult not to wonder if there was actually anything, any material, into which these four could not breathe life, and let fly higher than it has any business flying. They certainly give I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change an energy, an enthusiasm, an ineffable joy which far exceeds its obvious potential.

Assassins at the Menier Chocolate Factory starring Aaron Tveit

What is most impressive about Lloyd’s Assassins is the way it can walk the line between tragedy and farce, between opera and vaudeville, with integrity and precision. Chris Bailey’s quite wonderful choreography makes you feel exuberant and queasy at the same time. More than anything else, the emphasis here is on putting the Musical into Assassins.

The full cast list for I Can’t Sing – The X Factor london musicals has now been announced. Opening at The London Palladium in March 2014, the show is written by Harry Hill and Steve Brown. Harry Hill said: “I worked with a lot of our cast in the workshops for I Can’t Sing! and we have some brilliant new faces too. I’m thrilled with The Acting Company we have on board – and it’s a coup to have Nigel Harman as Simon. He was so funny in Shrek the Musical – not so much in Downton. With the wig and teeth he looks more like Simon, than Simon.” Olivier Award-winner Nigel Harman has been cast as the judge everyone loves-to-hate Simon Cowell. He is joined by Cynthia Erivo as Chenice, who received great acclaim in The Colour Purple at the Menier Chocolate Factory early this year. Holby City actor … Read more
