Director Douglas Rintoul places it in the hands of an exceptional ensemble of actor-musicians, and the result is a joyful and powerful evening celebrating equal rights. Based on the film of the same name, the musical charts the determination, humour, defiance and skills of the women at the Ford Dagenham car plant who strike for equal pay in 1968.

It has been announced that after only five months new musical Made In Dagenham will close in the West End on April 11. The show, which stars Gemma Arterton, opened on 5 November at the Adelphi Theatre to mostly good notices but ticket sales did not follow. “Brand new, British musicals are few and far between, particularly those that can make you laugh and move you in equal measure. Our writers, creative team and company have been particularly passionate about telling this true story of a remarkable event in our history with the wit, heart and creativity it deserves. They’ve achieved that and so much more.” said Rebecca Quigley of Stage Entertainment. A new trailer has just been released for Made In Dagenham the musical. The show which is based on the hit movie of the same name opened last night in London at the Adelphi Theatre starring Gemma Arterton. The musical tells the story of the 1968 strike by the female employees of the Ford Motor Company who campaigned for equal pay for women. Made In Dagenham is directed by Rupert Goold, with a book by Richard Bean (one Man, Two Guvnors), music by David Arnold and lyrics by Richard Thomas Thomas (Jerry Springer – The Opera).

Made In Dagenham, a new British musical will which will open at the Adelphi Theatre on Wednesday 5 November. Based on the hit British film, this new musical comedy will star international stage and screen actress Gemma Arterton in the lead role of Rita O’Grady, with Adrian Der Gregorian as her husband Eddie. Joining Gemma and Adrian are Steve Furst playing US Ford Executive Mr Tooley, Mark Hadfield as Harold Wilson, Sophie-Louise Dann playing Barbara Castle, Sophie Stanton as Beryl, Heather Craney as Clare, Sophie Isaacs as Sandra, Julius D’Silva playing Ford Dagenham boss Mr Hopkins and Naomi Frederick as his wife Lisa.
