Jemma Redgrave and Oliver Cotton are to play Stephanie Abrahams and Dr Feldmann respectively in a new limited UK tour of Tom Kempinski’s award-winning play Duet For One. Jemma Redgrave is best known for her roles as Eve Granger in Cold Blood and Bernie Wolfe in BBC One’s Holby City. Actor and writer Oliver Cotton for his role as Cesare Borgia in BBC’s The Borgias as well as Penny Dreadful, Ripper Street and the film The Dark Knight Rises. Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures returns in 2018 with Cinderella. Following the success of the company’s 2017 sell-out tour of The Red Shoes, Cinderella will form part of the company’s 30th Anniversary celebrations. Set in London during the Second World War, Matthew Bourne’s interpretation of the classic fairy tale, has, at its heart, a true war-time romance. A chance meeting results in a magical night for Cinderella and her dashing young RAF pilot, together just long enough to fall in love before being parted by the horrors of the Blitz. Cinderella features Lez Brotherston’s sumptuous Olivier Award-winning costumes and sets and lighting by Olivier Award-winning Neil Austin. It also brought to a close Daniel Evans’ tenure as Artistic Director after seven years, before he takes up his new position at Chicester. Evans undoubtedly leaves on a high. Richard Taylor and Rachel Wagstaff have worked to adapt the story of a woman who ultimately wants to be loved and acknowledged.
