Strangers in Between Trafalgar Studios

As the King’s Head Theatre prepares for its move to a new purpose built theatre space in Islington Square, they have announced that their sell-out productions of Puccini’s La Boheme and Tommy Murphy’s Strangers In Between will transfer to Trafalgar Studios 2 from 6 December 2017. Adam Spreadbury-Maher and Becca Marriott’s reinterpretation of Puccini’s classic La bohème is set in present-day East London and delves into the lives and loves of Mimi, Musetta, Ralph and Mark. The production lays bare the damaging effects of co-dependent relationships against a backdrop of spiralling rents and social media. The cast will include Becca Marriott as Mimi, Matthew Kimble and Roger Paterson sharing the role of Ralph, Matthew Palmer and Thomas Isherwood sharing the role of Mark, Honey Rouhani as Musetta, and Lizzie Holmes playing both Mimi and Musetta. Principal casting announced for Consumables at King's Head Theatre

  Michael Hanratty and Timothy Harker have been announced as the principal cast in the upcoming stage debut of Consumables, a provocative new play at the Kings Head Theatre as part of their 2017 Queer Season. Rising star Michael Hanratty’s credits include Young Lucius in the sell out Arcola Theatre / Edinburgh Fringe show Titus Andronicus and Silvius in As You Like It (Rose Playhouse.) He has also starred in a variety of short and feature length films including Gregor Fitio’s upcoming film Different. Timothy Harker’s recent stage appearances include Incident at Vichy (Kings Head Theatre/ Finborough Theatre), Jack Silver’s revival of Tennessee Williams  Confessional  (Southwark Playhouse), Ball Bag (The Lost Theatre) and Montgomery and Push Up Daisies (The Hope Theatre.) Final casting has been announced for the world premiere of Outlaws to In-Laws, seven one-act plays by leading gay writers dedicated to the struggles and joys of gay men connecting with each other over the last seven decades. From the darkest days of criminality to the legalising of gay marriage, the works by Jonathan Harvey, Jonathan Kemp, Joshua Val Martin, Matt Harris, Patrick Wilde, Philip Meeks and Topher Campbell each represent one of the decades from the 1950s to the present day. King's Head Theatre Queer Season

The King’s Head Theatre today announces the full line-up for its 2017 Queer Season. Established in 2015, the Queer Season is a celebration of the most interesting and innovative LGBTQI+ theatre being created in modern Britain. To mark the 50th anniversary since the decriminalisation of homosexuality, this year’s season has been extended to 9 weeks, and features world premieres alongside transfers from some of the UK’s largest arts festivals. The first major London revival of Kevin Elyot’s drama, Coming Clean, since it opened at the Bush Theatre in 1982 headlines the season. Directed by the King’s Head Theatre’s Artistic Director, Adam Spreadbury-Maher, Coming Clean examines the breakdown of a gay couple’s relationship and examines complex questions of fidelity and love.
