Twitstorm Park Theatre 1st June 2017 3 Stars BOOK NOW The great thing about this theatre is that you can never – quite – tell where Artistic Director Jez Bond is taking it. Each new show comes along and brings with it a new departure, and certainly a bold contrast to whatever preceded it.  Each production is a risk, and while many pay off, occasionally some do not.  Well, that is the privilege of an experimental, new-writing house: it must reserve ‘the right to …’, well, if not exactly ‘fail’, then certainly to be slightly less than completely successful. Never was that more true than with this opus, a contemporary boulevard comedy, by and partly starring Chris England, set – in theory – in the world of Twitter and celebrity culture. Margolyes is all stillness and urgent rouge-et-noir power; her delivery like acid etching a design on copperplate. Barber speaks with that magical voice that sounds like oloroso mixed with double cream and sprinkled with Pyrenean truffle. Every second in their company is like reading a gorgeous glossy magazine that you just can’t put down.

Casting Announced For Warde St at Park Theatre

With the critically acclaimed revival of Richard Bean’s Toast currently running in Park200 and Anna Jordan’s Chicken Shop about to open in Park90, today Park Theatre Artistic Director Jez Bond announces the full cast for Damien Tracey’s sharp political drama Warde Street, set in the aftermath of the July 7th 2005 London bombings. Jenny Eastop directs a company that includes Omar Ibrahim, Avita Jay, Shane Noone, Maya Saroya and Corin Stuart. The production will open in Park90 on 6 October, with previews from 30 September, and runs until 26 October. Warde Street tells the story of Eddie, an ordinary man, whose life is ripped apart when his wife is killed in the July 7th 2005, London bombings. Cast Announced for David Hare’s The Vertical Hour at The Park Theatre

Park Theatre Artistic Director Jez Bond has announced the full cast for the first London revival of David Hare’s The Vertical Hour. Joining Peter Davison and Thusitha Jayasundera will be Cameron Cuffe in the role of Dennis Dutton, Pepter Lunkuse as Terri and Finlay Robertson as Philip. The play, which received its UK premiere at the Royal Court in 2008, will be directed by Nigel Douglas and opens on 25 September, with previews from 23 September, running until 26 October. Nadia Blye knows exactly what her stance is on Iraq. A former war reporter and Professor of International Relations at Yale, she has advised the President and seen action in Sarajevo and Baghdad.
