Urinetown Transfers to West End in September

Urinteown St James Theatre

Following its success earlier this year at the St James Theatre, it has been announced that Jamie Lloyd’s production of Urinetown will transfer to The Apollo Theatre in September this year. The musical written by Mark Hollman and Greg Kotsis, Urinetown is set in a Gotham-like city of the future where a hero leads the people in a revolt against people using private toilets. Also represented in the West End by his productions of Richard III and The Commitments, Jamie Lloyd said earlier today “Having attracted a diverse audience of all ages at the St James earlier this year, I’m bursting to bring our production of this brilliantly off-kilter musical comedy to the West End, where I hope we’ll make an even bigger splash“. Casting for the transfer is still to be announced.
