Producers have announced that Clive Francis (The Crown, Netflix), Barbara Marten (Casualty) and Liam Brennan (Diary of a Madman – winner of a Stage Edinburgh Award) will lead a dynamic cast in the much-anticipated return of Stephen Daldry’s multi award-winning production of JB Priestley’s An Inspector Calls at the Playhouse Theatre, London. Clive Francis comments, An Inspector Calls is one of the great classic plays of the 20th century. It premiered in London’s west end the year I was born and has now been seen by a whole new generation of theatregoers thanks to Stephen Daldry’s brilliant and masterly production. The Roundabout, a recently discovered comedy by J B Priestley comes to the Park Theatre in late August 2016. The Kettlewells are a dysfunctional family. Richard is a charming old Etonian whose business ventures are failing. Over a crowded weekend, his daughter Pamela, whom he hardly knows, returns from Russia, a passionate communist; his ex-wife and mistress both unexpectedly arrive, and his butler has a big win at the races. Following their success with the 2015 world premiere of Arthur Miller’s No Villian, The Old Red Lion Theatre has announced the world premiere of J B Priestley’s Benighted. Originally published in 1927 as a novel by a then unknown Priestley, it wasn’t until 1932 that the novel was adapted  by Universal into a film called The Old Dark House, which broke box office records across the UK.
