Pleasure Dome Theatre have announced the cast for their production of William Shakespeare’s King Lear to be presented at Exmoor’s Valley Of Rocks. After their critically acclaimed The Importance of Being Earnest and “stunning” Lorna Doone Pleasure Dome Theatre Company present LEAR; Shakespeare’s greatest play re-imagined in a gritty, dystopian production created especially for Exmoor’s Valley of the Rocks. Following on from their critically acclaimed 2016 production of Macbeth, Pleasure Dome Theatre Company has announced the company for their 2017 season. In 2017 the company will present  Oscar Wilde’s The Importance Of Being Earnest  from 8 – 26 August 2017 and R D Blackmore’s Lorna Doone from 29 August – 2 September 2017. This year’s acting company for both plays includes Joey Bartram, Alec Bennie, Peter Dewhurst, Marie Fortune, Helena Northcote, Helena Payne and Judy Tcherniak. Pleasure Dome Theatre Company aims to bring professional open-air entertainment to both the community and holiday makers of Exmoor. Inigo Transfers to Pleasance Theatre

Following a sell-out season at the White Bear Theatre, and with the play about to be published, Inigo transfers to the main house at the Pleasance Theatre for a limited three-week run. It’s 16th Century Europe – Christianity is at war, counter-reformation follows reformation and the founder of the Jesuits, Ignatius of Loyola, enters Rome as a radical reformer. The play follows the life of the Christian Revolutionary and Basque-born nobleman from ambitious, hotheaded hedonist to his conversion and adherence to the values of poverty, chastity and obedience. It charts the founding of the Jesuit movement, which set him on a collision course with the church and the establishment which lasts through to the present day.
