The first wave of cast for the new stage play sequel of Helen Forrester’s much-loved Twopence To Cross The Mersey has been announced. By The Waters Of Liverpool will be given its UK premiere this Autumn in Liverpool, where the famous books are set. The play follows the smash-hit success of Helen Forrester’s Twopence To Cross The Mersey and is being brought to audiences by the team behind both the musical and stage play versions of the award-winning true story. The Forrester family has been cast, and it’s a warm welcome for three much-loved actors who return to their roles. Twopence To Cross The Mersey Tour

Following its hugely successful tour of Merseyside in 2015, Twopence To Cross The Mersey will embark on a tour that will cover seven venues across England’s North West and North Wales. Based on Helen Forrester’s best-selling autobiography, Twopence To Cross The Mersey opens at the Royal Court, Liverpool for a three-week run on 20th September 2016. There are just two changes to the line-up who generated rave reviews when the show enjoyed a successful six-week tour in Spring 2015. The cast now features actors Phil Hearne (Good Golly Miss Molly, Coronation Street) and Tom Cawte ( The Lone Pine Club, BBC TV’s Witless) as part of the 8-strong ensemble cast.
