With lyrics by David Zippel and a book by Charlotte Jones, The Woman In White is adapted from Wilkie Collins’ haunting Victorian thriller of the same name. Anna O’Byrne cast in first London revival of The Woman In White

Anna O'Byrne to star in The Woman In White

Producers have announced that acclaimed musical theatre star Anna O’Byrne will play the lead role of Laura Fairlie in the first ever revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Olivier Award-nominated musical The Woman In White at the Charing Cross Theatre. Anna O’Byrne played Christine in the hugely successful Australian premiere of Love Never Dies, which was later filmed for DVD release. Andrew Lloyd Webber then brought  Anna to London to make her West End debut in The Phantom of the Opera. The recipient of the 2017 Helpmann Award for Best Actress – the Australian equivalent of the Olivier Awards – Anna received the award for her performance as Eliza Doolittle in the sold-out 60th anniversary production of My Fair Lady at Sydney Opera House. REVIEW: Love Birds, Pleasance Courtyard ✭✭✭✭

Lovebirds at Pleasance Courtyard

Love Birds is a real hoot but, at 60 minutes, it is clearly a work in progress, squeezing in well over a dozen different songs while giving us just the skeleton of the plot and characters. After its premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, it will be interesting to see how Robbie Sherman and his team develop the show and spread its wings.
