A lot of impressive creative talent has been thrown at Boys In The Buff, and one can but marvel at the standard of the quality of work lavished upon it.
The wonder of Aria Entertainments’ revues is their simplicity and coherence: two qualities easy to strive for, but easy to miss in this deceptively simple form.
Rehearsals are continuing for Devlish, a new musical comedy in which an angel crash-lands in Clapham North (convenient given it’s proximity to the Landor Theatre) and today, Producers have released the first photo of Alex Green in the pivotal role of “Angel”. Once Angel has savoured the delights of Clapham North he decides he wants to become a human. And thus starts his odyssey through a metropolitan mire of corruption. Cute and innocent, he is lured into appearing on a ‘Freak Idol’ TV show and is lusted after by fans everywhere. How long before he sells his soul completely… or will his soul be saved by the love of a good woman? ‘Devilish!’ is a new British musical with music by BB Cooper, and book and lyrics by Chris Burgess. This is certainly a must-see show for Midler fans and thanks to an energetic cast and some sparkling tunes there’s plenty to keep everyone else entertained as well.
