The throbbing, majestic and luminous heart of this production comes from Katie Brayben’s faultless, radiant and absolutely triumphant turn as Carole King. Brayben recreates the feel, the sound, the look of Carole King in a completely authentic and resonant way – she feels like the natural woman.
Cast announced for I Can’t Sing – the X Factor musical
The full cast list for I Can’t Sing – The X Factor london musicals has now been announced. Opening at The London Palladium in March 2014, the show is written by Harry Hill and Steve Brown. Harry Hill said: “I worked with a lot of our cast in the workshops for I Can’t Sing! and we have some brilliant new faces too. I’m thrilled with The Acting Company we have on board – and it’s a coup to have Nigel Harman as Simon. He was so funny in Shrek the Musical – not so much in Downton. With the wig and teeth he looks more like Simon, than Simon.” Olivier Award-winner Nigel Harman has been cast as the judge everyone loves-to-hate Simon Cowell.
