The London cast of the award-winning musical Kinky Boots today celebrated its 1000th performance in the Adelphi Theatre and has now also received its 1,000,000th audience member in the West End. A firm favourite with West End audiences Kinky Boots is the recipient of every major Best Musical Award having won the Olivier Award and Tony Award amongst others. Inspired by true events, Kinky Boots tells the story of Charlie Price, who is struggling to save his family shoe factory. Simon-Anthony Rhoden has joined the cast of Kinky Boots taking on the role of Lola whilst Verity Rushworth has now joined the cast as Lauren. Recent new cast members also include Jed Berry, Momar Diagne, Lauren Drew, Dale Evans, Jordan Fox, Rosie Glossop, Keith Higham, Ben Jennings, Georgia Louise, Emma Odell, Anthony Reed and Dominic Tribuzio. Continuing with the show are David Hunter (Charlie Price), Alan Mehdizadeh (Don), Cordelia Farnworth (Nicola), Michael Hobbs (George), Suzie McAdam, Jemal Felix, George Grayson, Robert Grose, Melissa Jacques, Robert Jones, Jane Milligan, Robin Mills, Sean Needham, Jon Reynolds and Dominic Tribuzio. Casting for the show is already underway with rehearsals due to begin in July, with a first preview scheduled for 21 August 2015. The search is now on for an entirely British cast. A new trailer has just been released for Made In Dagenham the musical. The show which is based on the hit movie of the same name opened last night in London at the Adelphi Theatre starring Gemma Arterton. The musical tells the story of the 1968 strike by the female employees of the Ford Motor Company who campaigned for equal pay for women. Made In Dagenham is directed by Rupert Goold, with a book by Richard Bean (one Man, Two Guvnors), music by David Arnold and lyrics by Richard Thomas Thomas (Jerry Springer – The Opera).
