Klein says: “London Bubble Theatre Company’s work in supporting theatre makers of all ages though a wide range of programming goes to the heart of what we seek to do at Pint of Wine, and we look forward to partnering with them on various projects throughout 2019.” Proceeds of the 19 April performance of Queen of the Mist will be donated to support the Bubble’s Creative Enders Programme.

PINT OF WINE 2019 SEASON

Queen Of The Mist
9 – 27 April 2019
Jack Studio Theatre, Brockley
Queen of the Mist is based on the astounding and outrageous true story of Anna Edson Taylor, who in 1901 on her 63rd birthday set out to be the first person to survive a trip over Niagara Falls in a barrel of her own design. This story explores the fickle world of celebrity and sensationalism at the turn of the century with an unconventional heroine determined not to live an ordinary life. With a soaring score that incorporates turn of the century themes with LaChiusa’s insightful and engaging style, this award-winning musical is the story of how one woman risked death so that she could live. This production marks the UK Professional Premiere of the show under the direction of Dom O’Hanlon and award-winning musical director Jordan Li-Smith. Pint of Wine Theatre Company is proud to present Queen of the Mist on an Equity Fringe Contract in support of their Professional Made Professionally Paid initiative.

Cabaret Festival
4 – 7 June 2019
CLF Art Cafe, The Bussey Building, Peckham

In true Pint of Wine style, these will be cabarets with a distinctly theatrical flavour and will be created by rising-star Musical Director Jordan Clarke. Jordan Clarke trained in Composition at The Royal Academy of Music, and works as a freelance Composer, Musical Director, Accompanist and Improviser. No Matter What…Shine – A New Song & Dance Production
Autumn 2019
Working with Lemington Ridley, a towering creative force across many disciplines – choreographer, fashion and costume designer, drag performer, singer and multi award-winning ballroom dancing champion – Pint of Wine will look to share this journey of creativity and relentless drive through song and dance. At once raw and glittering, heartbreaking and inspiring, Lemington’s story of finding community and purpose through dance and performance shows us its power to feed, to help heal and to always shine.

Mame
4 – 14 December 2019
The Cockpit, Marylebone
Mame is an iconic madcap musical with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman (Hello Dolly, Mack & Mabel, La Cage Aux Folles) and a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee, based on the 1955 novel Auntie Mame by Patrick Dennis. Set in New York City during the Great Depression and World War II, it focuses on eccentric Mame Dennis. Her fabulous bohemian life with her wealthy friends is interrupted when her young nephew arrives to live with her. The musical originally opened on Broadway in 1966, starring Angela Lansbury and Bea Arthur, and included the classic numbers Bossom Buddies, We Need A Little Christmas, If He Walked Into My Life and the title song Mame. It was Tony award-winning hit and went on to spawn a film, a London production, plus Broadway and 40th anniversary revivals. This innovative full staging at the Cockpit Theatre will be presented as an amateur production by arrangement with MusicScope and Stage Musicals Ltd of New York, under the direction of Dom O’Hanlon with choreography by Becky East.
